Inspiration

Background

The concept was inspired by the specific period of China, through 1960 to 1980, in Daqing, which was the cradle of China's heavy industry, it was once one of the most prosperous cities in China. There were countless people who have dedicated their youth and enthusiasm to heavy industry production.

Inspiration

My grandfather was also one of them. He is the prototype of the characters in the whole scene. Nowadays, with the development of society Development, the development of intelligent technology has brought about the shift of the economic center. Daqing has also faded out of public view, and the people who have dedicated their youth to it have also aged with its decline.

Think deeply

Every generation carries a unique history that must not be forgotten, even as new waves rise.

Subject

In remembrance and gratitude for every worker who has built and served the nation.

In space design, I used the dislocation and inversion of space to express a state of chaos.

I referred to the setting style of the stage play. Digital tools gave me more possibilities to build scenes.

Texture -

I used Mari and Substance painter

A dilapidated cabinet and a concrete step

In the texture processing, I chose to make a gradient from wood to concrete.
I want to use the collision of two different materials to metaphor the change of times.

Sketch -

I tried a variety of forms. I hope that the structure of the entire space can reflect contemporary society in the eyes of the elderly: chaotic, efficient, and busy.

The entire short film uses a long lens, and I hope that this coherent lens that runs through the entire space can express a sense of peeking.

Maybe we will look at history, but the development of things will not just stay in the past.
